Amazon Expands Workforce in Las Vegas with New Corporate Office and Delivery Centers
New Corporate Office and Delivery Centers Fuel Regional Growth
Amazon announced on Thursday an expansion of its Las Vegas workforce by opening a new 30,000-square-foot office at Town Square and announcing efforts to create 125 new jobs. The new corporate office will support the company's Human Resources teams and its growing workforce. Amazon expects to open two so-called last-mile delivery centers in the valley this year: one in Henderson near the M Resort and another in North Las Vegas near Jerry's Nugget casino. In addition, Amazon broke ground in October on an 855,000-square-foot fulfillment center in North Las Vegas, which is expected to create 1,500 new full-time jobs when it opens in 2021.
Hub for Regional Operations
Amazon's expansion in Las Vegas is part of the company's broader growth strategy in the Western United States. The company has several warehouses and distribution centers in the region, along with a corporate office that supports its HR teams. "We're excited to continue growing our presence in Las Vegas and the surrounding area," said Amazon spokesperson Lisa Campos. "These new facilities will help us to better serve our customers and support our growing workforce."
Commitment to the Las Vegas Community
Amazon is committed to being a good neighbor in the Las Vegas community. The company has donated millions of dollars to local charities and organizations, and it is a major sponsor of the Las Vegas Raiders. Amazon also offers a variety of programs and initiatives to support its employees, including tuition reimbursement, paid parental leave, and discounted child care.
Amazon's expansion in Las Vegas is a positive development for the city and the region. The company is creating new jobs, investing in the community, and helping to drive economic growth.
